Matthew Cooper

Matthew R. Cooper is a nationally-known attorney and author. His debut book, A Soldier’s Home: United States Servicemembers vs. Wall Street documented the landmark case that eventually won millions of dollars in compensation for soldiers whose homes were illegally foreclosed during their active duty service.

After the publication of A Soldier’s Home he went on to cowrite No Bathroom Breaks in the NFL: What it Takes to Make it in the National Football League, with football great Jason Babin. The behind-the-scene look at the NFL shares of the perks and penalties of athletes on their way to fame.

His book Making a Marine in the 21st Century, was a collaborative project with his son, Drew. The book features the letters the father and son wrote to one another during Drew’s strenuous weeks in the Marine Corps basic training. As a father encouraged his son to keep going, Drew shares the daily physical and mental the challenges he faced during boot camp. While it was written as a project for father and son has become a preview for future Marines and parents whose children also head off to Marine boot camp.
